Become knowledgeable of the project approved for construction drawings and specifications.
Lead Role in performing Mechanical systems verification inspections to develop an accurate knowledge of the contractor work process and workmanship.
Coordinate and report all findings and technical issues that arise during construction.
Review the design to ensure it meets good construction practices and approved standards. Provide constructability input, optimizing the TLP design.
Review construction contractor’s quality plans, procedures, and ITPs ensuring compliance with project specifications. Verify that quality plans and ITP’s are followed during construction activities.
Ensure that MST’s Quality Plan is followed by all members of the Mechanical Systems Verification Team.
Lead Role to ensure Mechanical Systems Inspectors are trained and understand the project QC Procedures and ITP’s.
To assist in the development of the construction contractor(s) in their capability to deliver deepwater production systems to safety and quality standards of Shell and E&P Industry.
Support role in the implementation of the Site Team HSES Management Plan.
Lead role ensuring that HSES requirements are understood and implemented by the Mechanical Systems Verification Inspectors.
Identify any potential source of unexpected rework or extra work and recommend mitigation.
Verify and monitor the adherence to company approved quality plan and punch list procedures.
Verify certification of materials and equipment
Verify, witness and review performance of the contractor’s quality staff.
Report and help in resolving design and specification issues, including processing Site Query Forms and NCR’s
Review and verification of Contractor’s Shop Drawings
Working in a team environment
Capturing learning’s related to Design, Constructability and Site Engineering
Interfacing with Contractor for Systems issues
Interfacing with Contractor on reviewing procedural work processes for adherence to all applicable requirements. Interfacing with Designers to resolve design and constructability issues
Demonstrably motivated individual with proactive attitude.
Over 20 years in shipbuilding and oil and gas facility construction.
Experience in European and / or Far Eastern fabrication / ship yards, particularly in the large block construction processes of similar design.
Strong leadership skills.
Strong familiarity with national and industry specifications and codes
Familiarity with ISO 9000-2000 quality systems and associated processes and procedures. Experience in developing project Work Instructions, Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Procedures.
Experience in training new hired staff both in industrial standards and project specifications and procedures.
Fluency in English.
Strong Documentation skills.
Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
Strong People and Leadership Skills – Able to build and motivate a diverse multi cultural team to deliver superior performance.
Experienced in the safety requirements and hazards encountered in a fabrication facility.
