Tanah Merah District Council was established in 1 January 1979 under Tempatan Government’s Act (Act 171) with those areas gazetted broadly 136.60 kms. square. This establishment is made with restructuring several areas to be put under one administration namely a combination of three present Local Superintendent and a few other economic growth centre in this country. Is based on Council’s size of area gazette on 1 September 2005, it its make Council administration’s area to 867.67 kms square with total people as many as 103,487 people. Ceremony population are made up major namely Malay composition 95%, Chinese community 3% and Indian 1%.

Requirement :
- Malaysia citizen
- Not less than 18 years on the closing date of job:
- i) Malaysian Higher School Certificate or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government or;
- ii) Diploma in Public Administration is accredited by the Government of institutions of higher learning or a qualification recognized equivalent or;
- iii) Former Inspector of Police Lieutenant Malaysia or the Malaysian Armed Forces or the equivalent and have been confirmed in that position and have a good track record;
- iv) Have the conditions of physical and sensory measurements as follows:
- (a) The height of at least 1:57 for men and 1.53 meters meters for women without shoes;
- (b) weight at least 48 kg for males and 46 kg for women;
- (c) Has a normal chest measurement of at least 79 cm and 84 cm during inhalation (men only);
- (d) Pass the vision test for left and right eyes tested separately with accuracy of V/6/9 without glasses;
- (e) color blindness and hearing no evil, and
- (f) Confirmed fit and proper by the Medical Officer of Governments, and
- (g) A pass in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay language (including oral examination) at the Malaysian Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
