Majlis Daerah Tanjong Malim was established on December 1, 1979 under Section 3 of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171). Council area is an area of ??10.410 hectares and an estimated population of 33.393 people.
Tanjong Malim is a town located in the southern state of Perak. The town is bordered by states bordering Selangor Darul Ehsan and topography of the state of Pahang. With the backdrop of the Main Range and the position of his town by the River Expressway makes Tanjong Malim town town entrance to the state an attractive place to visit.
Been from time immemorial this town better known as Education City. Education is synonymous with this town because of the higher education center here that Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI), which was initially established with the name of the Sultan Idris Training College (SITC) in 1922 which has produced many scholars and professionals. In terms of the shape of the earth, Tanjong Malim is an area of ??sloping land and is surrounded by sloping hills (Main Range). Position of the town is located 84 km north of Kuala Lumpur and 145 km south of Perak state capital Ipoh.

How to apply: -
a. All permohonanhendaklah use the application form MDTM (PKDM) which is available at Tanjung Malim District Council.
b. Every application shall be accompanied by copies of certificates or examination results have been obtained, identity card, birth certificate which has been confirmed and one passport sized photograph.
c. Applications of candidates who are currently serving in Government / Local Authorities / Statutory Bodies shall be made by the head of Department in accordance with General Order Chapter ‘A’ 21. Applications that do not follow the rules in the form will be rejected.
